Why Cape Coral Is Different

Septic And Sewer In Cape Coral

Cape Coral is a canal city built on sand with a high water table, and that combination is hard on septic systems. Drainfields here sit closer to groundwater than almost anywhere else we work, so a system that might last decades further inland can start backing up years earlier.

The other half of our Cape Coral work is the utility expansion. As sewer lines reach a neighborhood, homeowners get a deadline to connect, and the old tank has to be pumped and then crushed or filled and permanently abandoned, not just left in the ground and forgotten. We do both sides of that job, so it stays one contractor, one permit trail, one inspection.

What We See Here
  • High water table and canal lots that put drainfields under pressure
  • Sewer hook-ups on utility expansion deadlines
  • Permitted tank abandonments, pumped and closed out properly

Cape Coral Septic Questions

The city is bringing sewer to my street. What do I actually have to do?

Two things. Get the property connected to the new line, and get the existing septic tank properly abandoned. Both are permitted work, and we can quote them together so nothing falls between two contractors.

Can I just leave the old tank in the ground?

Not as it sits. An abandoned tank has to be pumped out and then crushed or filled so it cannot collapse or hold water. Done correctly it is permitted and inspected, and it is not an expensive job.

Why does my Cape Coral drainfield keep getting soggy?

Usually water table, not volume. When groundwater is high the field has nowhere left to drain to. We will confirm whether you are looking at saturation, a broken line, or a tank that is simply long overdue.
